You can't catch many sunny days in November, December and January. The temperatures tend to dip below zero during the coldest days. The long and harsh winters can be a dampener on any holiday plans. December, January and February are perhaps the wettest months in Edinburgh. Northeast winds sweep across the North Sea during winter and make the Edinburgh weather rather cold and dry.
