Edinburgh Book Festival

The Edinburgh book festival 2004 was visited by over 200,000 people. The Edinburgh Book Festival was established in 1983. It is part of the Edinburgh International Festival - an extravaganza of music, opera, theatre, dance and books. This Book Festival of Edinburgh is a platform for the new talent on the writing scene in Scotland. Held this year at the Charlotte Square Gardens, the Edinburgh Book festival had a successful 21st birthday celebration this year. With special visits from JK Rowling, Muriel Spark and Toni Morrison, the book festival this year was a resounding success. In fact, every August, Charlotte Gardens is the venue for discussion and debate on a wide range of issues. There are various activities and events for families, kids and adults.
